The Church Appears to Fall But Does Not Fall

This problem of misinterpreting the Spirit of Prophecy (SOP) is due to reading the compilations of SOP put together by denominational leaders who would have you interpret the writings in the way that they desire.

This is why it is so important to read her writings from its original source and to read the Testimonies for the Church Vol. 1-9 instead of reading compilations put together by denominational leaders.

This is of utmost of importance considering the fact that at the last General Conference session, it was voted that:

“the SOP can no longer define doctrine, nor is it authoritative in the church.”

Notice what she says,

“The very last deception of Satan will be to make of none effect the testimony of the Spirit of God”.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18).

Satan will work ingeniously, in different ways and through different agencies, to unsettle the confidence of God’s remnant people in the true testimony. {10MR 311.1}

Have not the denominational leaders made the testimonies of none effect by not using the SOP in the Sabbath School Lesson, sermons, or in our Adventist schools.

The SOP was made of none effect by the apostasy of the book, The Great Hope in 2015 when many were thinking they were giving money to a just cause only to be deceived by church leaders.
Many have read the following quotation and have been mislead or deceived by denominational leaders, notice the following:

The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall. It remains, while the sinners in Zion will be sifted out–the chaff separated from the precious wheat. This is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place.–2SM 380 (1886). {LDE 180.5}

Many have read this quote believing that the sinners within the denomination will be removed and that the denomination will not fall.

In order to understand this quote correctly we must understand how the Spirit of Prophecy (SOP) uses the term “church”.

God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. “Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” {17MR 81.4}

Clearly the SOP views the “church” as the people who love God and keep His commandments.
The church is not a building or a denomination, but a group of people that fear and love Him.
So when the SOP said the original quote that the church appears to fall. She was saying it appeared that the people of God would not make it, but by the grace of God they would.

Such hope for you and I as we prepare for the second coming of Jesus.

And in preparation of His coming we as a people are in great need of more self-supporting churches, self-supporting ministries, and self-supporting workers that are separate and distinct from the denomination due to the prevailing sin and apostasies that surround us.

This is how the work will be finished.

Notice the following from the SOP:

I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the truth.

Satan knows this; and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them.
He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant. {EW 261.1}

Revelation 14:4 makes it clear that the 144,000 are “not defiled with women”.

In the Bible a women is a church according to Isaiah 54:5,6 and 2 Cor. 11:2. They are not defiled with sins such as the LGBT movement that is being perpetuated in the churches today.

Lev. 18:22-28 says, Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.

The SOP says,

To those who are indifferent at this time Christ’s warning is: “Because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My mouth.” Revelation 3:16.
The figure of spewing out of His mouth means that He cannot offer up your prayers or your expressions of love to God.

He cannot endorse your teaching of His word or your spiritual work in anywise. He cannot present your religious exercises with the request that grace be given you. 6T 408.

Can you imagine worshiping in a place where God doesn’t accept the worship?

This is what is happening in many SDA churches across the country every Sabbath. The churches have become defiled due to the LGBT community being allowed to become baptized members of the denomination and serve in church leadership.

This places the churches in a condition where God can NOT use them and He “spews them out”, meaning he rejects them.

God will use consecrated workers in self-supporting lines to carry forward His work at this time.
